March against Oxfordshire County Council Cuts. Manzil Way to Bonn Square
Saturday Feb 15th. Assemble 12 noon, Manzil Way, Cowley Road, East Oxford,
Oxfordshire County Council is proposing to make £64m of cuts to its services.
As well as 38% reductions in Housing Related Support, this will mean huge reduction in provision of adult social care (£7.1 m), environmental services – including public transport (£11.2 m) and children’s services (£6m). They say the children’s centres and early intervention service will be protected, but are taking £3m from their budget.
The final vote will be on Tuesday 18 February. On Sat 15 February we call on the people of Oxfordshire to demonstrate together against the cuts.
Demonstration called by Oxford People’s Assembly. To help plan and publicise the demo, or for more information, please mail back. Join the event facebook page https://www.facebook.com/events/657991620906042/

Protest against Oxfordshire County Council's 38% housing related support budget cuts
12.45pm Tuesday 28th January. Outside County Hall, New Road, Oxford, OX1 1ND
On the 28th January at 2pm, Oxfordshire County Council will be having a cabinet meeting, to discuss the proposed 38% budget cuts to Housing Related Support. These cuts could decimate homeless services across the county. Resulting in more people on the streets of Oxford, and it becoming harder to help them.
Staff and service users from across the housing support network will be staging a peaceful show of solidarity against these staggering cuts outside County Hall.
